Big Vathi-Ithaca to Fiskardho
we raced (motor sailed) Rob and Sam from Vathi to Fiscardho. We lost. Rob won. My first email after we returned to the states had the following closing:

| In the morning as I sipped my morning coffee from the cockpit and watched this old fisherman do his thing, I noticed he did not have a fishing pole, but rather like all the other fishermen we have seen on this trip, he had a coil of fish line. As I sat there thinking that he could get much more distance with a fishing pole, I watched him patiently wind up his line and swing the bait in a circular motion and release the longest cast I have ever seen. |
